clinical significance
The Vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D) test measures the level of vitamin D in the blood, which is essential for bone health, immune function, and overall well-being. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with conditions such as osteoporosis, rickets in children, and increased risk of fractures. This test helps diagnose vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency and monitor response to vitamin D supplementation.
